I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood it was a force already within me when i arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me like food or water.

Kamilia Koutet is a Dutch singer/songwriter. The main genres she dedicates herself to are Pop, R&B, Soul music. She was born on July 22, 1993, in Enschede and was raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During her childhood, Kamilia was interested in soccer, tennis and painting. As a young child she already wrote short stories or songs. It didn’t matter what she was doing, eating or biking she was always humming but she often kept her musical aspirations to herself. As she grew up she taught herself to play the piano.
In early 2006 when she was 13 an American television film High School Musical was broadcast on television. After she saw that movie she knew from that moment who she wanted to be, a singer. During the years she took voice lessons and piano lessons. In her spare time she was always spending her days in her own bedroom writing her own songs and make up the piano chords for her own song.
In 2011 she applied for a Singing competition Moon and Stars in Rotterdam and they invited her to do an audition. The 3 finals who came through the boot camps were able to perform on the concert of the famous singer Maher Zain. With her unique sound and charisma she knew exactly how to touch the souls of her audience. So Kamilia made it to the last 3 and she performed on his concert.
After that she applied for another singing competition Do you think you can sing in Rotterdam. She also made it to the last finals and she took her trophy. Beside the singing competitions Kamilia attended many workshops from different vocal educators like Waylon & Hind. This year she’s going to finish secondary school and after that she would like to go to the conservatory in Rotterdam (Pop-Acadamy). Meanwhile Kamilia is on her way to make her dreams come true and to get somewhere in the music industry.
Her inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Boys 2 Men, Chris Brown, Craig David, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Jessie J , Adele, Alicia Keys & JoJo.
